This week’s chibi is of my friend, Warenwolf. He’s typically been a ranged hunterish sort of character in the games we’ve played. The funny story behind it was that one night he logged into Mumble (voice chat) as “Warenwofl” and the server pronounced his name as “Waren waffle.” He has henceforth been known as “Waffles.” […]
I’m actually a little astonished that I’ve had this blog for over a year now. Here’s the 2nd Birthday invitations for my little cousin, Zoe. I did her 1st Birthday invitations last year. This year’s theme was Minnie Mouse, and everything is going to be pink. I’ve designed the e-vite that my cousin sent out, […]
I’ve been trying to avoid is Aspertame (and other artificial sweeteners), Corn Syrup/HFCS, and caffeine, but I felt like I was limiting myself to only drinking water. However, after a little digging I found some great options that I’d like to share.
Finished the new Dresden book, Skin Game, last night. Expect some epic quotes from that soon <.<
The difference between theory and practice is smaller in theory than in practice.
This felt like this was a little play on the saying, “Theory is the same as Practice in theory, but not in practice.” I’ve definitely felt the impact of this concept having transitioned from writing programs in class to writing programs in the real world.
Well I’ve been able to crank out the first round of weekly photo and chibi, and it’s kind of miraculous I was able to do it. My friend Belghast, after many months of balking and waffling about Wildstar, not only embraced it for the launch, but gave me a stinking friend key to try it […]
This is a slightly older photo, but it represents what I love to do most: Macro photography. I was visiting with my wonderful friend, Jen, and found this tin for making tiny donuts. We tried it out and they came out quite adorably. We topped them with Nutella and adorable color sprinkles. They were delicious, […]
Was sick on Friday and subsequently got sucked into Wildstar. Now I’m hopelessly entrenched >.>
So my chibi for the week (albeit completed uncomfortably close to the deadline) is of my friend Tam. He’s the man behind the curtain that keeps our endeavors exciting and new. He has subbed in for our podcast a few times in a pinch to keep the discussions going. This chibi is an homage to […]
It would seem that, even though I did a slightly better job at churning out some content for this blog, I’ve once again let it fall by the wayside. I’m going to blame this on video games >.>; With a lot of my friends starting new blogs as a part of various newbie blogger initiatives, […]
Pita chips do not go well with Salsa, just in case anyone was wondering…
Everyone can be taught to sculpt: Michelangelo would have had to be taught not to. So it is with great programmers.
I’ve been prescribing to this new food philosophy for several months now, though for the first time I’m actively working to put the principles into practice. One of my personal goals is to get carbs back into my diet. After observing my body temperature for a month or so, I realized that my average body […]
I’ve frequently referred to myself as a “Carbovore” suggesting that I would much prefer a diet based on carbohydrates, like breads and pastas, than meat or vegetables. While I overtly jest about this, I don’t remember a time in my life where I wasn’t craving carbs like crazy.
As with most people and just about every resolution for the past 7 years ago, I decided that this was going to be the year that I get healthy. In the past the goal has always been to lose weight, and I always wound up falling short. This time around, however, I’m putting an emphasis on feeling better and getting stronger.
I like my potatoes crispy.
I had a little epiphany last night as I was making myself some tasty coconut brownies: I’m a sore loser. Now you’re probably asking yourself what losing could possibly have anything to do with making brownies. See, for me, anything kitchen related almost feels like inevitable failure. I joke around with my friends all the […]
Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.
Hey fiddle diddle
The cow in the middle
The cat jumped over the couch
The fork kissed the spoon
Right under the moon
But all the spoon said was “Ouch!”
I think the worst part about my profession is being backhanded with mandated soul-crushing simplicity.
